It's a Wonderful Life.

It did pretty unspectacularly at the box office in 1946, but became a Christmas classic a couple decades later due to TV showings.

Its a Wonderfil Life almost killed James Stewart's career as it was the first film that he starred in after his return from World War II and was a box office flop. Miracle on 34th Street was somewhat the opposite. The studio had such little faith in it that it was released in the summer and surprised everyone with the business it generated.

it's a wonderful life. which makes no sense how it ever became a christmas tradition. If you truly watch the movie you will see that the acting is terrible even for the time. the movie just wasn't good there is a reason the critics hated it and it flopped because the movie sucks
