Virtually everyone that has downloaded IE7 has had trouble with, as IE7 is full of bugs not yet straightened out. If you continue to use it, you will have to live with the bugs. If you want to get rid of it, uninstall it on both the desktop and the laptop, and let it revert back to IE6. Maybe by the summer of 2007, Microsoft will have it fixed.
Uninstall it by clicking on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove and the Show updates box at the top. When the list loads, find IE7 and click to remove it. After it's removed, close control panel and restart the computer. It will revert back to IE6.

Go back to internet explorer 7. Version 8 is crap still. Tried it, worthless upgrade. Forget all the chrome and all that and any other fancy stuff they try to push on the average computer user. Keep it simple if you don't want to use firefox just use ie7.

it works great on my laptop, my computer at home, which I get home so rarely these days has practiclly become "her" computer has had major problems with it crashing. I haven't been home to sort it out yet. I'm thinking the longer your OS has been running, the more clutter you have downloaded to IE6 before the install the more problems you are going to encounter. My Wife's computer is about 3 years old, my laptop has a pretty much new XP install on it and it runs flawlessly.

This new version is awful! I go to college and most of our assignments, feedback, and grade our on our campus website. It doesn't let you look or download anything. Our professor's highly recommend un-installing in and going back to what we were using before. I have heard from everyone I talk to they are having problems. So it's not just you, it's all of us too. Is that a pain in the &%$!

Yes, it has some major compatibility issues. I would wait a while before switching to IE7, it takes a while to work out all of the glitches in newly released software.
