This silly untrue rumor has been going around for years.

She was born a female and is still a female today.

I'm not sure how it could be "common knowledge", since none of us is privy to her private medical records. I have no idea if this is true, but it certainly doesn't matter. It's not something anyone can control; it's an accident of birth and no one's business but the family's. If she was indeed born with that condition, does it alter your opinion of her? I've never met her, and never will, but she appears to be a down-to- earth person, with a great deal of talent and good humor.

i heard this before and i thought it was true...i thought she confirmed it on some show or in some magazine..anyhoo, if it is true, she was probably ALWAYS a girl, but had developed an extra organ ( the penis) and doctors had it removed at birth...Just like pop/rnb singer ciara..she confirmed this rumor on oprah..her sex was female at birth, she just had formed that extra organ...some cases are not as severe as others when dealing with hemaphrodites.

and i dont CARE if she was born with an extra organ, i think she's a great person.

Again for the third time this week why is it that beautiful, successful women in the industry are always rumored to be men. This is crazy. She has children. And if she was born with some extra equipment why do you care.

Peace

What on earth?!!!
Never ever heard anything of the sort.

Can hermaphrodites give birth? I mean, maybe they can or maybe they can't, I don't rightly know, but I know her daughter was adopted but she actually gave birth to her son.

Snopes says it is "undetermind".

Personally, I think it's a silly and unfounded rumor.
