Some close that part of themselves off to the world. Either they deny it or hide. How to tell? Unless they are open with it you will have to ask the gay community.

Really, the only way to know if someone is gay or bi is for them to tell you so.
However there are some small clues that CAN mean he is, but these should never be taken as more then clues.
* Check out the browser history on his computer over the course of a couple weeks. Is he regularly looking at bi or gay porn?
*Does he lie to you a lot, or act secretive about where he goes?
* Check out gay dating./sex sites... does he have a profile there?
* Drive by the local gay bar parking lot one night when he is supposedly "working" or "out with friends"... is his car there?
* Is he moving WAY WAY too fast with you? Such as wanting marriage, kids, a house, etc. That can be signs he is trying to run from his own sexuality.
* Do you have regular sex? Does he seem satisfied? Ask him if there is anything he wants to try... see where he takes you.
* Talk to his exes. If they all suspect the same thing, you may be onto something.

Well, if they are not to interested in you, in a sexual way, that could be a clue.
A clue, but not a garantee! There are many other reasons for that. Like stress, etc. Lack of time, etc.
And another reason it is no definite, is some people are into both.
Course, they are considered bi, and not gay, exactly.

you can't always tell. you can have gay guys who are pretty "macho" and straight guys who love clothes and other cliche gay things. best way is to ask him... maybe not so direct, try...
"so have you ever thought about anything going on with other men?"
if you are in a relationship, he won't mind you asking a question like this if you choose and appropriate time...

if he talks about guys alot or keeps looking at them constantly. if he changes and he becomes more girly and leaves almost every night and comes home at 4 or 5 in the morning smelling like cologne that s a sign he s been in a gay night club...

he would say a guy is hot or banging and he would constantly bring guys up. my friend went through this also and she found out he was gay, and he hurt her feelings by cursing her off. but anyway even if he is gay u can still date him
