Once in office, we can form no idea of how they will behave, for out office all talk and all positions are shaped by their political expediency.
Electability is another matter, and here there is probably less prejudice against a woman in high office than against an African American, tho both will provoke wilde-eye, hair-pulling bigotry from the right wing of the Reps, and their scandal mongerers and whispering campaigners will launch their normal sordid efforts, you may be sure of it. Look for Mr. Rove at the botton of every swill barrel.

You don't give enough information. Is the black man Colin Powell or Barak Obama? Is the white woman Hilary Clinton or Elizabeth Dole? Of the previous people, I would choose them in this order: Colin Powell, Elizabeth Dole, Barak Obama, Hilary Clinton.

If they are both equally qualified, a black man. Even though women are tougher (especially if you have a black woman running - she could just smack Congress if they don't give her what she wants), any man would be taken more seriously than a woman in this sexist, woman-fearing country.

White woman - I would like to see a woman in the White House....but she'd have to be a harda*s. If not, media, politicians, etc, would eat her alive.
Black man - Wouldn't mind seeing it, but he'd have to almost be a moderate to get elected.
If I had to choose one, I'd take the woman. Just because I don't think it'll ever happen in my lifetime....and that's a shame.

I want Hilary..not because of anything against the black man..I just think she will do a great job. She has alot to prove and I think it would just push her harder to turn our country back from poo poo land that Bush has put us in because she is a woman and she can not fault while in office.
