No, but that is a great urban legend. The story is that they were experimenting on the chickens *to get more meat* and basically created a hybrid/mutant that technically wasn't a chicken. That's *according to the legend* why they started calling themselves KFC w/o using the word "chicken" in the ads
Wack I know, but it makes for interesting conversation :)

LoL. No dude they don't mutate their chickens. But what they do is give them lots of steroids to make them grow quicker and bigger. I know because I use to work at a plant where we butchered and processed the chicken sold to KFC.
You might think that if you saw what they call "big bird" chicken, when they come to the plant they look like Ostriches. Seriously though they are as big as turkeys.

No it is not true. If it was then KFC would be facing some very serious criminal charges. However KFC is bad enough without genetic mutation. The conditions in their slaughter houses are frightening and they refuse to change their ways. If you buy KFC you are condoning severe cruelty to chickens. If they were to treat cats or dogs this way they would be facing felony cruelty to animal charges.

Please KFC uses the same chickens they any grocer store uses
I sometimes wonder where these stories start. by the wall-mart
uses mutated people to work for them...you know they are in the store,,,,you just can never find one when you need them so they must be invisible or really little

We raise chickens for the company that contracts with KFC and McDonals for their chicken. The answer is No.
We have 2 chicken houses and they both have normal chickens in them.

I don't' know if thats true or not. I saw on the news video of young guys being mean to the chickens but I don't know if it was true. My little sister is a die hard vegan and she put a bumper sticker on her car that said Kentucky Fried Cruelty.
