Thanks. It's for Sociology and we were watching movies that dealt with sexuality, gender, race, and deviance. And I was trying to figure out by looking at the reviews, but nothing mentioned it. My friend told me it did though so that's why I'm asking.

Bricks- can you elaborate any on that? So how come many people are saying no it doesn't then? That's strange. Thanks for your answer!

Just another question, is what Bricks saying true? Does that really happen in the movie? If so, then it obviously DOES deal with homosexuality!
And please DON'T answer saying you didn't watch the movie/you didn't finish it/you liked it, honestly then go answer a question about a movie you DID watch!

No, unless you count that Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is homosexual. Or at least rumored to be.
Bend It Like Beckham is a love story dealing with the cultural strictures regarding the relationship between an Indian girl and a white British man.

In the movie, Jasminder's friend, Tony, confided in her that he's gay... he didn't say it out loud "I'm gay"... twice he mentioned "I REALLY like David Beckham". Then there Jules's mother, who misunderstood the friendship between her daughter Jules, and Jules's soccer pal, Jasminder. She crashed into Jasminder's elder sister's wedding and accused Jasminder of being a lesbian: "How dare you stand here like this with your family when you've been kissing my daughter behind my back?... Get your lesbo feet off my shoes..." or something like that. I think Jonathan Rhys-Meyer was a miscast though.
What "Bricks" said is inaccurate. The guy who wanted to "start a relationship" with Jasminder was putting on a show in front of Jasminder's parents and relatives. Jasminder had won a full scholarship to train with the American women's pro football team, and she needed her parents' permission to go to the USA, so her friend, Tony, came up with the idea that they should pretend to ask her parents' consent to be engaged on condition that they allow her to "study" anywhere she wanted to... and all of this happened right after Jasminder's elder sister's wedding, and after Tony had "come out" to her some days before.

The main character's best guy friend is gay. He fancies David Beckham - it's a pretty funny scene actually. Minor references to homosexuality only. The movie deals more with the clash of cultures.

The answer is yes.
Also you might want to note that originally the director had plan a romance between Jess and Jules by dropped the plot.
Here's an article on it:

The only time it does when one of the mother's suspects her daughter is, because she is caught hugging one of her teammates. The mother flips out and then its explained that the women had it wrong. It was Kiera Knightly's character.
*Edit* After reading one of the responces I completely forgot about the gay friend...that was the most important one!
