It depends on the content of the message or reply. One sentence can have more impact that a whole paragraph. A lengthy reply does not seem intelligent if it is not talking about anything. I will say that sometimes there will be times when you can't answer a question without waking up your own conscious and asking yourself a few questions in the process. I think people need to just answer the question and be honest. If you have done that then length does not matter. (Sometimes I do believe that people do have a lot of knowledge on the subject and just might have a lot to say about it. That is not wrong as long as they are staying on point). Intelligence is not nerdy it is an attractive trait. Although intelligence is measured in numerous ways, I think it's attractive to find someone you connect with or find to be intelligent.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, but I was asking a question! It's not always the person pitching the question that removes it. Yahoo does it somewhat indiscriminately. They removed a question I asked about whether there was food source that could be termed 'brain food' because they said it violated their 'Community Guidelines'. There was no profanity, nothing insulting and nothing provocative, just a question about how eating certain foods correlates to an increased attention span. Honestly, after reading the 'Community Guidelines' thoroughly, I couldn't figure out what brought on the removal of my question. I wouldn't go jumping to conclusions before you know exactly who removed the question you answered!
