He's the Senator for Illinois and if he were to win he'd be the first black President, I think this would be great, but with the US having a history of racial tension, do you think he will get elected?

Race has nothing to do with it. Obama isn't experienced enough to be president. If I was forced to vote for a dem, I'd say that John Edwards has the most viable chance of winning the election. He should have ran last time instead of settling in as Kerry's understudy.

He could get enough votes, but I think Hillary Clinton wants the fame and glory right now, I don't think she will let him get as far as he would like. I think people would vote for him, but I have a feeling the US will have a white female president before they have a black/Hispanic/any other race male president. Hopefully not Hillary Clinton.

Well, think about it this way:

Cheney has his 200th heart attack, this time it incapacitates him or worse. Bush has to step down for reasons that are obvious. Can anyone tell me who would be president at that point?

Hint. Her initials are CR. =)

There are different ways to get a black president, if the powers that be, deem it to be to their advantage. The popular vote doesn't matter, just look at the election of 2000.

No, he is inexperienced, flash in the pan made up by the Democrats. This man is a hard core liberal. The press is making him out to be a great leader, he won his election because the guy he was running against was caught up in a sex scandal. Dont forget he is half white on his mothers side.

No way, at least boy I hope not!!!

I live in Illinois and I don't trust him, plus he came out of know where a few years back, I can not see how he is qualified to be President.

Yes I tend to lean to the GOP but I would have a hard time if John Edwards got the Nomination on the Dem side.

No, he won't and he's a half black guy anyway. There is a difference. Hillary won't be president either.
If you haven't noticed the news media likes to hype things out of control, hoping they can convince people to do what they want.

Racism runs too deep in this country to ever elect a black man into the office of the President. If he was elected he probably wouldn't live to see his inauguration.

well tere similarity in his name (Obama) to the worse America hated enemy ( Osama) could be a great hidrance. I will simply not vote this name. It brings back into memories. America will not vote a black man into power. Not now.
