at his age...I'd probably do the SP.. Video's are also available for the SP and as he gets older you can buy the DS and he'll be able to play the SP games on it. Advance games can be played on DS but not the other way around. Start with less and build. We started with gameboy color, moved up to advance, up to SP and not on to the DS this year for Christmas.

Nintendo DS Lite, there is not any doubt about it. The Gameboy strengthen does no longer have a bult in gentle, the DS does. The Gameboy has crap video games, the DS would not. you could play Gameboy strengthen video games on the Nintendo DS and Lite. you could't play Gameboy and Gameboy colour video games on the DS although. So, to respond to your questions... a million) The Nintendo DS Lite has more desirable ideal fee using valuable residences equipped in to the equipment. They comprise equipped in gentle, turn reveal screen, contact reveal screen, performs GBA and DS video games and so on. The DS has way more desirable ideal high quality and life expectancy than the Gameboy. 2) I actually have also responded this question. sure, the Nintendo DS Lite can play Gameboy strengthen video games, even those pretend ones you could purchase on line. desire I helped.

Ds lite of course!! it is easier and more fun. You are using a stylus or plastic pen if you use DS, it is much better
Plus ds can play advanced sp game.
Advance sp is cheaper, but since you are buying now, spend a few dollars more, It will be worth it!!
There are education games in DS as well

I would get the DS. It is all the rage with the kids at school, they can draw each other pictures and send them to each other wirelessly. The DS also plays games from both systems. I have a DS and it is a fairly tough system to break and a lot of fun to play.
The PS is double the cost of a DS almost, DS games are cheaper too.

well the ds is easier for his age because it doesnt have the stylus and a screen at the bottom you can probally find more games he would like on the sp
the ds lite has two screens and if he presses to hard on the bottom he can break the screen. THe thing is though he can play SP games and DS games it has two slots one for each.
I still recommend the SP because its stronger and more difficult to break than the DS

the sp is cheaper and the games are a little more child-oriented. the ds lite is a waste of money. if u r gonna get something for that much, u may as well put up a little extra and buy a PSP

The DS lite is more expensive, but it plays both DS games AND Gameboy SP (or GBA games as we refer to them as).
Spend the extra money if you can afford it, and get the DS Lite. It's a fantastic system, and even has a touchscreen that you can incorporate into games.

I would recommend Nitendo Gameboy Advance SP is good for your son age.
The reason because the game catridge cost cheeper and has a wider selection for Advance SP and it backward compatable meaning the older GameBoy catridge can be play on Advance SP.
DS is more for advance player (10 years old) as it has two screen instead of one and the game cartridge is much more expensive due to the complexity of the coding.
Let your son try out GameBoy Advance SP so that if he don't like to play , you don't waste too much money on it.
If he like it, you don't need to pay too much for new catridge as well. : )
