I'm heading to NY City for the first time to visit my boyfriend. He and I are tight on cash right now so I'm looking for some good suggestions of things that won't cost us an arm and a leg. Even if it is just places to walk around to see the lights or displays. I've never been so I'm totally clueless. Thanks so much and happy holidays!!

Hi! We were just there a couple of weeks ago!

You can always take a peek at the holiday displays on 5th Avenue. Tiffany has a lot of gorgeous displays, and they also have smaller jewelry items that aren't nearly as pricey as you would expect. St. Bart's Church on Park Ave. always has beautiful displays too. Grand Central Terminal is done up in all sorts of lovely garlands, and of course there's Rockefeller Center. Although I go there for Kinokuniya Bookstore and not the tree......;) if you like things from Japan that's a good place to browse, it's not expensive and is right in Rockefeller Center.

Have a great time and Happy Holidays!

I know it sounds kind of odd, but definitely hit Macy's. You don't have to spend a dime there to enjoy it. It is absolutely gorgeous, plus it's a landmark there. It's great to go there and just look at all of the displays, lights, and also to people watch. Have a great time!

I know you don't want to spend a lot of money, but if you can, see the Radio City Christmas show. It is unbelievable. Look into a matinee. It might be a little cheaper.
