I'm 25 and now a divorced single mother.
I got married Nov 2002 and had been with him for a total of 7 years.
He too was very controlling and violent towards me. It's good that you got out of that relationship!
I'm sure you will find love again as you are still young, you ex didn't deserve you anyway! You'll find someone who treats you right. No need to rush.

I got engaged at age 25, my now husband was 32 at the time. We got married when I was 27, he was 35 and we've been married for over a year and together for a total of 3 years.
Prior to meeting him, I was in a 2 year relationship and the guy wanted to marry me - but I didn't think he was the right one for me. I was 24 and it was hard to break it off because I felt exactly like you do - that I might not find anyone else. Less then a year later, I met my husband - so anything is possible :)

1st time: 25; He was controlling and violent, so I divorced him after 2 years.
2nd time: 35; He is sweet, caring & a devoted husband & daddy. Celebrating 5 years this month!!!
You're NOT too old!! Waiting & getting better was the best thing I ever did! I found such a great guy in the 30's. Devote some time to being YOU & learning to be the very best YOU!!! You won't regret it!

Love will always be around to all age groups, so never worry yourself sick because you have every right to disentangle yourself from a relationship you aren't happy with. Loving couples don't mind the age gap and neither are they put off by being too old for everyone will get old that's a fact.
So whilst you are enjoying your singleness, take time to evaluate thoroughly your next boyfriend as you should be careful not to go out with a similar type.

I was married at 19- he was very violent,divorced by 24.
Got married again at 26, he was a nutcase that liked machetes !!! divorced next week at 28.
You'll know when it's right honey, you must not go with the first one that comes along like I did,

I got married at 18. We had many rocky years in the begining but we made it through but I will never recommend marrying so young to anyone! You are never too old to find the right person. Just think, that one person is probably thinking the same thing! Much luck with finding love!

I ended a relationship of 9 years at the age of 26 and thought i don't want another and yet i was married just before my 28th birthday and am still happily married 10 years later. So don't worry it will come one day.

Course you're not too old. I got married first time at 21 - BIG mistake - HUGE in fact. Like you I was beaten up by him badly and divorced a year later. I got married again at 27 yrs old and have been happy for 20 + years. Dont worry love - you'll find Mr right soon enough xxxxxxxxxxxxx
