My first instinct would be to slap back, but, where I live, there is a zero-tolerance by the cops for violence, and, even if provoked, if you hit someone, YOU can also get arrested. Unless my life was actually in danger, I wouldn't hit back. It's not worth having assault charges pressed against me, and having to go to court to try and get them dropped.

I'd be flabbergasted I suppose- After I get over the initial shock and being sure it's not someone who is sick- I 'd punch them in the face!
