Odin.........hung himself and lost an eye to gain wisdom. I too have had to learn the "hard way" many times in life.
I can't help but love the Norse mythology.......an afterlife of drinking, fighting, sex and an all you can eat buffet.

First, while I believe they are immortal, Jormungandar and Cerberus aren't gods. I would say that my favorite gods would be the celtic gods: Brighid, An Dagda, Morrigan, Lugh, Epona, Palu, Balor, Manannan Mac Lir, and Anegus Oengus are a few to be named. My reason is because my irish back ground is steeped in celtic lore and it brings me back to my roots. I'm also fond of germanic gods which include quite a few of the norse gods which I have a little of that blood in me as well.

I'm a big fan of chaos deities in general - Loki's fun - but I also have a strange pull towards 'fictional' gods. (After all, does it really matter when the myths were written?) In that vein, I'm a fan of Nyarlathotep and Arioch as well.

The GreenMan! He is horned and foliate. Verile! Yet also kind and gentle.
Just his face makes you think of those nice soft cracks on an old tree, kindly and friendly.
The grass and the leaves that make up his hair, make you more able to feel the grass and the leaves beneath you're feet, and see all the brilliant greens on the trees.
He may be kind and gentle, but still able to stick it to ya, know what I mean?!
And I like that!
