Some motion lights are also controlled by an inside switch. If yours is this way - do this... Flip the switch off, wait about 30 seconds and turn it back on. This may fix the problem. If so you are all set, if not I'd say get a new light. Some of these are designed to come on and stay on if the electricity goes off and back on. In other words, if someone flipped the switch off then back on, the light will stay on until reset by doing what I said before. Hope that helps...

I would locate owners manual sheet for the lamp. Some motion detectors have unique options like: 2 second momentary on followed by off then on again will make it stay on. Shut the thing down for 5 minutes from switch & then turn on & see what happens.

As has already mentioned, turn the switch off then back on. Many installations do not have a switch. Therefore turn the circuit breaker in the main electrical panel off then back on. This will happen each time there is a power interuption. If for some reason you want it on all the time do the same thing.
