This is a confusing question so you may have to try asking it again with a bit more info. User names don't really get addedd automatically, unless you mean the Guest account? A user name is an account.
You control accounts from Start - Control Panel - User Accounts, but you must be an administrator. You must leave your account as the admin account.
Its best to have a limited account for visitors and mates to use.
If you have a second hand pc there could be unwanted accounts. But you'd need the administrators password to log in and change them.

Click on Start and then choose control panel. Once there choose user accounts where you can change who has access to your PC. But a word of warning you can't if you are not an administrator on your PC. It depends on your account type that means how you've been set up but there's no harm trying as you will be told you can't if you can't.
From user accounts you can change the name and picture used by the person to log on. You can also delete accounts you don't want.

Go to Start-->Control Panel and click on User Accounts. You can add, change or delete user accounts there.

Do you mean remove User Names? If so, it's Start - Control Panel - User Names and then you can do what you want.
Hope that's what you're looking for.

Sarah; If you are referring to Administrator, guest, iuser_*, etc, these are system users and should not be deleted. You can disable all ofthem except Administrator. You may rename administrator, but not remove. If you want to disable them (which they are by default) see help under disable users.
