We've always believed that Nagging is bad and demotivating etc. I think sometimes it brings a positive outcome as well. There are those who have to be repeatedly told about finishing the task or leave some bad habit and nagging does the trick for them. Nagging can be done in a subtle way as well by making the person on the receiving end understand the positive outcomes.

Nagging can get rid of annoying people you don't want hanging around. Nag them long enough and they'll leave. But, then, YOU become one of those annoying people.

I think nagging only works because people do the chore, if only to make the ****** be quiet and go away. The don't do the chore because they know it needs to be done...... so at the end of the day, yes nagging does "work", but it's hardly teaches anything. If positive means that the chore yes done, yes- if positive means someone learns some kind of lesson, no.

Nagging may not even get the job done. The only positive I can think of is that it's better than indifference, and perhaps only for people who've been together a long time. It will make a child feel inadequate.

Nagging is power over that person and is totally incorrect, you have no right. Positive encouragement with detatchment is loving and nurturing. Nagging is emotional, mental and spiritual abuse.
