Has anyone else noticed this? You can buy something from some guys ebay store for $60 but you have to pay $30 shipping where as you could buy the same thing from a different seller and only pay $10 shipping but they also want $80 for the same product. these aren't actual stats but I see stuff like this all the time when browsing ebay, what do you think?

Some do, but generally the shipping charges also pays for the materials (boxes, packing materials, tape, time it takes to mail, etc.) it costs to ship and the actual price of shipping. Remember, it's a shipping and HANDLING fee. Also make sure you're not buying something from a foreign country, that's happened to me before, while not paying attention to what I was buying.

I figure what the selling fee is that ebay is going to charge me, And I add that to the cost of shipping plus packaging and and printing the label ( ink, paper ), This way I make enough to pay the seller fees. This is known as buisness expensess.

I have sold items on ebay. I give best guess estimates on shipping. It may be free to get a box from the grocery store but it does take time and gas to drop off the package. While this is the case I may guesstimate a shipping price of $5 when in actuallity the"shipping" is $4.50 (carriers charge). The 50 cent overage covers averything else (packing material, tape, boxes, labels, time and travel to drop off the package). If my guesstimate is several dollars more I will refund the money directly to their paypal account which is why my rating is ALL positive. At times I have undershot the cost.

verify the itemizing irst. no longer all sellers are complete time ebayers ie they have jobs and do eBay of their spare time or maybe the guy is on hols. the vendor is meant to deliver interior of four days. you have 40 5 days to hotel a PayPal dispute. i might provide it yet another few days, then e mail the vendor and tell them you will hotel a dispute except they are able to respond with transport information. This often gets them shifting. If the vendor has low advertising numbers or low % comments, i could be accommodations a dispute faster incredibly than later because of the fact the guy could be a scammer. My advice is often to handle universal sellers ie over a hundred revenues with ninety 9% comments score, in any different case it incredibly is a threat! maximum eBay sellers are good human beings yet as continuously, there are undesirable ones who're out to tear-off you.

Yes they make tons of money. Ebay says this is against their policy but they do not truly enforce it. People do it so people will buy the item without looking closely at the shipping charges and then they are stuck with it for pretty much a little more than if they had paid more for the object itself but with lower shipping. It sucks just be careful when you shop.

First of all, people sell the exact same thing for diffrent prices, all depending on how much they would perfer for the item, secondly, they live in diffrent locations, where shipping and handling ranges from prices, and they could be using a diffrent size box, or even a diffrent shipping plan, like 1-3 buisness days or 7-14 buisness days, ect.

Go look at e-bay's selling policies. Sellers are not supposed to do this. They do this all the time, in reality. But, it is against e-bay's policy. I won't buy when I think the shipping is unreasonable. There is always another seller waiting to sell you something for a reasonable cost and accurate shipping. Do your homework before buying!

Yes, some of them make all their money this way, putting up a $1 auction plus the actual price for a shipping charge.

Margins are very tight at Ebay and the only profit some sellers make is on shipping.

yep. most do but a few out there are honest about it and put what it actually cost to ship. the ones that hike up the price claim its a "handling" fee for time and packaging. but how hard is it to get a box from a local store and put the item in?
