As long as they don't violate any statutes. The American people have a right to know as much about their government as possible.

"The American Civil Liberties Union says there's nothing particularly remarkable about a classified document it received this fall — nothing except the government's efforts to get it back."
If anybody would have actually read the article it says its not of importants. but the point is the govt is trying to stop all these leaks that keep slipping out. The New York Slime (times) gets them all the time too. I'm sick and tired of this and it needs to stop. Both sides do it and they should all be tried for treason when caught leaking info. The information age is prohibiting our govt from doing their job. The public has never known what all goes on in govt and never will. this is why its a republic and not a democracy. its not the populaces job to understand why or what they do. I dont know where you all get this idea but you are all wrong thinking they have to tell you everything

good question. i think of the main situation right here is that the government has purely acted in accordance with the desires of the folk it represents. it is not incredibly the government's fault that the words, "In God We believe," is on the money. the government purely replied to the desires of the folk. in this, i might think of that it could be the electorate that the ACLU might would desire to hold to blame. because of the fact the word replaced into positioned on the expenditures by using familiar call for, i think of it could be an incredibly unfavourable place for the ACLU to soak up attempting to eliminate the expression. they might would desire to bear public disfavor and this might bring about an significant loss of help for them. It in simple terms does no longer appear as if a conflict they'd win and whether they did win, the wear and tear they might do to their very own employer could be to this type of degree that they won't get better. in simple terms my suggestions.

If the ACLU got a hold of the document, then they have every right to disclose it regardless of its clearanc or security rating. The person that obtained it for them would be in some trouble though.

Torture , what torture ? !
We like to see their private parts only. What did Dumbsfeld do to the pictures taken in Abu Ghraib, why are they classified? Is Dumbsfeld and Bush ashamed for some reason?
I do not care about the torture document; nobody reads them anyway. Just release the pictures!

Why should any individual or group be stopped from revealing corruption or other illegal activity.
If you are aware of corruption or illegal activity and refuse to act, you are nothing but an accessory to the crime and as such are every bit as responsible for the crime.
