they in turn finding fighting terrorism with terror as "wrong". So my question is should we stop fighting forest fires with fire, because then we wouldn't be "morally" superior to the forest fire?

If we use the same tactics as the terrorists then how are we any better than they are? Why do we deserve to win?

You raise a good question. The answer that most have used in reply for a very long time is, if you become what you are fighting, you end up losing what you are fighting for. More to the point, however, is that the real argument is about who is a terrorist. Many differ in opinion with you in that if you asked how many people live in terror, far more are living in terror of the United States than of any other source, including Osama and his little band of Al Qaedas. So many would agree with your assessment about how you might have to fight, but we are reminded of the famous quote "we have met the enemy and they are us.!" We deposed the elected President of Iran in 1954 and put in the Shah. We supported, armed and trained Saddam and his men, including when he attacked Iran. We prop us Mubarak in Egypt. We support Israel, even when they are ruthless with their neighbors. We have Meddled in the Middle East in so many ways that are very displeasing to the ordinary people of the region. Now we have attacked two countries in the region, Afghanistan and Iraq, bombing them viciously. Why do you suppose so many of them are willing to fight back?

Where do you come up with the premis that funding a war against terrorism is believed wrong by Democrats? Source please.

If lives are as important to you as you say, why are you sitting back on not challenging Bush for delaying the necessary course correction in Iraq until a politically favorable moment for him? Every day more Americans are killed and maimed, but I don not hear cries from the Republicans concerning these lives...?

Actually, we do believe in morals. We believe that it is immoral to invade a country that poses no threat to your own instead of pursuing the main culprits responsible for attacking your homeland. By the way, where the hell is Osama bin Laden?

We don't need to fight terrorism with terror, just swiftly and soundly like yanking a bandaid off.

We have been taught since Kindergarten that two wrongs do not make a right. Did you miss that day? I don't think anyone knows exactly what point you are trying to make.
