A marriage is a partnership, both partners have their strengths and weaknesses. They should compliment each other and each role is just as important as the other.

The both of you have an important role in your marriage...The man is the head of the house but his wife is his HELP-MATE not Maid. There are many things a wife does in a home that a man feels better not doing(ha-ha)I have a male shovinistic fiance but we get along because I speak up and let him know Slavery was abolished over 2,000 years ago and if he can't understand what a womens role is there are over 2,000 or more other men that know the definiton.Treat your husband as though he is a King because that is what he is in his castle but you expect the same treatment.Remember all women are "Queens"and should be treated as such.Communicate about everything and be sure you both clarify your opinions there is no need for arguing.Men are the ones who made up that saying that a womens place is in the home.Well a home is what you(both)make of it.You put a dog in his place not a human being(oh unless he/she bite(ha-ha)

Unless you can do all these by yourself, then your answer would be both are as important.

Purposes of marriage include security (derived from the solemn commitment to longevity in the relationship), companionship, procreation, child education and development, economic collaboration, and social stability. It affects assignment of rights to property and inheritance, aids in providing identity (particularly to children), and is often the means by which surnames or family names are carried forward.

both the husband and wife are very important to the same level of importance, but the role play are quite differently, of men and women are made differently.
Husband should be provider, leader, protector, and loves and understand his wife.
Wife the nurturer, teacher of own children, love, honour and submission to her husband as the leader of her home.
The wife is also her husband helpmeet, and her husband should always love and cherished her and even die for her, as Christ did for the Church!

Neither! It is an equal partnership, husband does dishes just like the wife, wife fixes the car just like the husband. If it isnt equal, it wont work!

both... U can't have a genuine family w/out husband and wife... the husband should be the head of his family.... he doesn't take advantage of that authority.... the should treat his wife as he would treat himself.... the wife add a great deal of balance in the family structure...

I believe both do because there's things that a women can't do that a men can do ...vice versa. They both need each other's qualities.
