We have an education outfitters where we live and something like a giftcard from a place like that would be wonderful - it saves her/him money and allows the teacher to buy something extra fun for the kids and not have to worry about the $$$$ - also, if you could get a few other parents to chip in and get a good amount on the gift card - like ten parents chip in $10 each -

I am a preschool teacher and although I appreciate the gesture there is just so many smelly lotions and candles and scarves that one can get. I don't mean for this to go unappreciated, but a gift card to any store in the local mall would suffice. It is a great gift and allows the teacher to choose what he/she wants. A gift card to a nice local restaurant is also useful.

The best gift I think a teacher can get is a simple "thank you". You, as a parent, write a brief note in a card thanking her for teaching your child. Then have your kid make a card or draw something for her teacher and thank her. Teachers don't get paid well, and have a tough job. This would be nice!

whatever you do DO NOT get the worlds best teacher item. bad idea honestly i think teachers have just a room filled with these items.

i think the best idea is to get a really nice flower and put it in a pot. then have your child decorate the pot and then let the teacher grow it inside her home and when it gets too big for the pot she/he can move it outside. then whenever she/he looks at it they can remember your child

New books for the classroom or school library. Teachers get so many trinkets every year that go unused, but new books will give for years.
