Do I need to buy some little fuses for each of the strands, or do you think it is likely I will have to take down half of all my decorations and restrand it? They are just the typical little mini lights that you can get anywhere and they have worked fine for 2 weeks.

If the entire strand went out, that is typically caused by a fuse. There are typically 2 or more separate sets of lights in each strand, so if just a portion of the lights are out, that typically means a bulb is broken or missing (most new ones still work when the bulb is burnt out). In your case especially, I would suggest checking the fuses on the first strand that is burnt out. You should not connect more than 3-4 strands together, because they will draw too much current and either blow a fuse or cause a fire.

This has happened to me many times. I tend to plug to many strand into each other. I would unplug the first strand and see if the others work. Most likely it is the fuses in the first strand only. If the other strands that were out work when the first one is unplugged I would bet the fuses in the first strand are your problem. I would be sure not to plug them all back together after you replace the fuses, use an extension cord and plug some into that. Merry Christmas!!!

If it is entire strands that have gone out, you need to look at the fuse at the beginning of the offending strand. You should have received extra with the lights, they are small 3amp fuses on most strings of lights. At this time of year, it will probably be easier and maybe just as inexpensive to buy another strand of lights. You will get the lights and fuses with them. If it is just some of the lights on the string of lights, then you most likely have a light that has gone out and effected that strand. Replace the burnt bulb and they should come back on. Some strings of lights will go out from the burn light and beyond if one goes out. It can be a pain to find the light that went out, but you have to find it or they will not come back on. Sometimes (not normally) it could be a problem with a bulb...or you could try the new fuses. If not, you will probably have to get new ones....My mom has had to do that before. Whatever happens, Have a Merry CHRISTmas!

either one bulb is burned out or a bulb is not in all the way first go thruogh the strand and check the bulbs if that doesn't work get new ones

How old are they? If you bought them recently,take them and exchange them where they were purchased.If more than 2 years old, replace them, why risk a fire this close to Christmas? I would rather be safe than sorry.....MERRY CHRISTMAS....
