A solution is a mixture of two things, nearly always liquids. e.g water and blackcurrant

A solute is a substance dissolved in another substance forming a solution. Mixing sugar in tea, sugar is the solute and tea is the solvent, forming a solution!

A solution is a homogeneous mixture of 2 materials. The solute is what is mixed in. By definition it is the part in smaller amount, such as with the air, the O2 is the solute in the N2 which is the solvent.With a solid in a liquid it is the solid.

solute is a substance which u dissolve in a "solvent" to make a solution. the solution is generally liquid and the solute solid eg:in salt water,salt is the "solute" ,water is the "solvent" and the mixture is the "solution."
