CJ-D .I am not turning my back to the violations Saddam did. Can you show me the country that did not do that in the past? No? Then you cannot blame Saddam for what he did. Or you can blame them for that but you cannot invade their country to kill innnocent people to turn the country in mess and chaos. There people can judge their ruler, not YOU.

So assuming that you're correct about Sweden having "no enemies", then you're applauding a country for not standing up to evil in the world?

You think it's proper to turn your back on tyrants and human rights violations a la Saddam Hussein?

That's moral to you?

____________

The U.S. military is not "killing innocent people." If we were doing that, the situation in IRaq would be MUCH more stable.

The average Iraqi condemned Saddam's behavior decades ago. They were quite happy when we removed Saddam.

Sweden has already been invaded by Muslims.

Malmø , Sweden . The police now publicly admit what many Scandinavians have known for a long time: They no longer control the situation in the nations's third largest city. It is effectively ruled by violent gangs of Muslim immigrants. Some of the Muslims have lived in the area of Rosengård, Malmø, for twenty years, and still don't know how to read or write Swedish. Ambulance personnel are attacked by stones or weapons, and refuse to help anybody in the area without police escort. The immigrants also spit at them when they come to help. Recently, an Albanian youth was stabbed by an Arab, and was left bleeding to death on the ground while the ambulance waited for the police to arrive. The police themselves hesitate to enter parts of their own city unless they have several patrols, and need to have guards to watch their cars, otherwise they will be vandalized. "Something drastic has to be done, or much more blood will be spilled" says one of the locals.

Of course Sweden has no enemies, if you dont stand up to someone of course they wont fight you, not to mention if someone attacked Sweden they would have us to deal with. It isnt like Sweden has never been at war, though they didnt fight in the world wars, it was never out of the realm of possibility that they wouldnt their neighbors Finland, Norway, and Denmark all fought in the Second World War. Plus countries like Sweden would have enemies if it werent for countries like us protecting them, and policing the world, even though I hate to use that term.

NOT TRUE AT ALL.

Sweden, Norway, Finland, have a very sordid past.

The Nazis invaded Scandinavia (which doesn't acutally include Finland).

Norway just celebrated 100 years of independence from Sweden. Or was it the other way round.

Swedish immigrants, my ancestors, in Minnesota had a really rough time and were forced to abandon their language...sound familiar>?

Whatever. But here is my experiences with Swedes is south Florida. They are not a giving people. Not giving of time or money to others, yet they always have their eyes open for freebies and their ears open for the easiest way to get around rules, etc.
Sweden has plenty of problems in their own country with violent crime and immigration. They need to DO something about that too.

The 5 year-old down the street has decidedly few enemies too, and for much the same reason. One has to be worth hating in order to engender enemies. Sweden is completely meaningless on the world stage.

Sweden's practice of not taking sides does not make them more honorable. They chose to let others fight the battles while they play both sides. The day may come when they will need to declare a position. Then, we will see how many enemies they have.

Sweden does have enemies - Denmark, Russia, maybe Norway. Lots of wars before Napoleon's time.

But by now, all these nations have weakened enough that they can't fight any more.
