I think they have to keep moving at least a little bit for water to run over their gills. So they probably slow down a lot, but keep moving. That's just a guess, I'm not a marine biologist like George Costanza.

Most do not. Their is some evidence that some spices of shark do stop moving & appear to be resting. If you have a fish tank & one appears to be a sleep. His a goner. Flush him and go to the pet store & get a new one.

yes, they do. However, if your fish is laying on his side, he's probably sick or dying or dead. Some fish sink when they sleep and some rise to the top, but they never sleep on their sides!

yes usually they will be low to the surface of the aquarium. not much movement. they are asleep

Maybe, but their eyes are open all the time and they are very alert, unlike human, if they do, they wake up like they didn't sleep

they do fall asleep. but with their eyes open.
