I had 2 regular peroids so i thought good, my husband and i decided to try for a child. then peroids came 10 days apart, with 1 positive hpt , 1 neg and 1 neg blood test, i wanted to go back on the pill, waited for a peroid to do so, nothing, but 2 positive hpts.. can the long term use had done something to effect that... ( any one wanting to go on depo please do not)

Nothing is wrong, unfortunately that is one of the first and well known side effects of the shot. While yes.. it's convient . I wish that I chosen another method. I had been on and off the "Depo shot" since after having my first child at the age of 17 and I am now 30 years old! After the very first injection I recall having a cycle for about a month straight... and then it just stopped completely.. I would go a WHOLE year after year only having a cycle 1 time through out that year. I would be hemorrhaging so bad to the point of having to the gyno doc. to get meds to actually STOP it. I never had any weight gain issues that so many others say they experienced. My husband always said he did not like it.. it was not normal. And bleeding like that was my body's way of overriding what the shot does to about 95% of women. But not having them had it perks:) On the flip side.. when we were ready to conceive again( our other two kids).it took forever(talking over a year for med to get OUT my system..Dr. said it was because I had been getting the shot for so many years... side effects of taking the medication.. But maybe you can contact a Women clinic like Planned Parenthood.. they may be a lot cost efficient for you at this time. Good luck and hang in there.

Hormonal birth control can screw your body up when off it. Your body just doesn't know what to expect. I'm no dr, but I suppose it could cause this. If you're getting positive Hpt, but a blood came back neg, I'd say get another blood. It may have just been too soon.

I was on the shot for 6 months..took me 18 months of trying found out that the shot had stopped my body from ovulating. My periods came like clockwork every 28 days. I had to take clomid to get pregnant.

I took it 3 times and stoped and took a year and a half to get prego. My best friend got pregnant WHILE taking the depo shot and having no period. Doctors were lil confused as she was SHOCKED.
