not sure exactly what you mean?? some people are infertile due to different things,,,,, the period is due to the uterus building up of blood, to support a embryo,, then the blood is flushed out,,, if a pregnancy doesnt happen,,,,, this is all controlled by hormones, so if the hormones are working ok,,, this would continue,,,,, yet other things could cause the infertility,,,

I liked very much the theam of the question. In one word, I think U ar asking that why not the Creator had the device to not menstruate if a lady is infertile !!!
I am trying to explain some thing about menstruation. If only I succeed...............
Every month, after seasation of bleeding, lining of the uterus [woumb] go on thickening to get prepared to recieve the fertilised egg.
At the same time in the ovary, an ovum[egg] is prepared to be fertilised by the sperm in the semen of the male partner.
If, after sexual intercourse, a sperm gets the chance to penitrate into the the ovum, i.e. the egg is fertilised and get '' implanted'' into the thickened linig of the uterus, the pregnancy is effected and no menstruation will be there in next cycle [ the status of amenorrhea or pregnancy]
If this does not happen the thickened linig of uterus will shed, liquify and comes out as menstruation or menstrual bleeding.
if u got this much, u can now imagin that ''not happening this'' can occur due to obstacles at different stages which may be the various causes of infertility or, may be created by the human being like birth control measures!
U see being a teacher is not so easy. If i am not understandable, am sorry and ready to explain further if u need!

There's a lot of reasons why women can't have children. Some woman have their tubes tied. The eggs can't be fertilized but they still ovulate, their bodies still respind as though they can have children, thus the period. Same with people on the pill, no fertilization, yet the body functions as though fertilization will happen, thus the period. There are many ways a woman can be infertile yet the body prepares for fertilization and so the period comes anyway.

What do you mean if you can't have kids? As in if your barren or infertile? A period is just caused by a female's hormones, and many things can cause infertility that have no relation to menses.

There are many reasons for infertility,if that's what you mean.A period just means that the womb has prepared for the implantation of an embryo, with blood and tissue, and if there is no baby for that particular month, the body expels the contents of the womb, via menstruation.

While you're able to rationalize this concept, your body is working on a millions-of-years-old programming schedule - and doesn't know any better. Its just the way it is.
And since a period doesn't harm most people (assuming its not making you anemic or you don't suffer from an odd blood disorder, etc), then most doctors aren't going to bother with trying to stop it (i.e., hysterectomy). Its just the way things work. Sorry....

It could be that you still ovulate, but the egg released from the ovary is an infertile egg? I'm no medical expert, but that seems to be the only sensible thing I can come up with!
