One of my ex's spit in a burger and told my sister to give it to my current boyfriend (me and him have been going out for almost a year now). She told my ex that she gave it to him, but told me the story of what had gone on (as we had just picked her up from work...she works at mcdonalds). She told me she threw out the burger, but didn't give me any reason why she felt the need to lie to my ex to remain in his favour.

She doesn't work with him, he was just there with some friends when she got off work

Your sister was just trying to make sure that she wasn't going to have trouble at work with your ex and trying to protect you and current boyfriend from gross and disgusting burgers. Give her credit for finally coming clean because your ex could really make work life hell for her if he finds out that she threw it away AND told on him! She did the right thing by telling you. Thank her for the heads-up.

First of all how old are the people you're speaking of? It sounds to me like there's a lot of growing up to do. You need to comfort your ex and your sister and see what the problem is with you being with someone else. Even though they both will say they wouldn't care ask them how they'd like it if someone spit in their food. You then need to have a long sister to sister talk with yours because obviously she's got issues with you. As you've said why would she even get involved in something that's against you and so nasty. Personally is sounds like your sister has not only betrayed you but she's lying to you. She didn't throw out the burger that your ex spit in. She let your current man eat it. Even though she's your sister I wouldn't trust her and I'd let her know that she let you down, you feel betrayed and that you don't trust her. I'd tell her to stay out of your personal life. Let the both of them know that from this point on your dealings and relationship with them have changed and that you only want to deal with them when necessary.

It sounds like she just went along with it to avoid confrontation.

Maybe she should have told your ex that she wouldn't give it to him. And if her boss saw her take it she could have jeopardized her job. But I think she thought this was the easiest option to go along with it without having a confrontation.

Your sister needs to stand up for herself because she was stupid to do this, but you shouldn't take it as betrayal, she just needs get some confidence so she doesn't just go along with what other people suggest and potentially ruin her job or family relationships.

Sounds to me like she is lacking in self esteem but then so are you for even thinking that this is a problem. Thank heavens you broke up with the ex he sounds like a loser.

She's being childish...how do u really know who she is lying to, you or him..she seems to have a need to be nice. ask her what her reasoning is...hopefully she is on your side, but yah i can't imagine being on my sisters side and listening to her ex, so ask her flat out.
