There is no cohesive government, simply armed bands of sunni and shia militias, members of Hammas, Hezbollah, Syrian and Iranian insurgents, Suddam loyalists, and Kurdish seperatists...

Everyone! I understand what you mean; no-one trusts the Iraqi government and there is so little order. These are strong powerful groups who have piles of weapons, and they aren't going to go away or be wiped out. This situation is endless, pointless bloody war.

the best hope the people have for unity is to have something like what happened in Iran 30 years ago, a crazy cleric to unite the warring factions on a common enemy. But who would that enemy be? Ah right, our soldiers.

It's sick how this continues every day, how negotiations are ignored, how everyone's an enemy. There's nothing to be reaped from occupying the country. The land is bloodthirsty. The americans have had better weapons, better organisation, and they have still lost. These people were here when the rest of us were still learning to throw rocks. Whatever prophecy it has spoken unto us it will be fulfilled.

They are not pointing their weapons in every direction, they have more sense of direction than you expect. They will shoot anyone that fits the rules of engagement.

the only way to "win" in situation like that is to kill everyone.. and that's just not ethical.. we couldn't bring ourselves to cause that type of mass distruction in Vietnam.. we, as americans, still have too much soul and heart to do that now.. so it's time to admit that we are good people and can't win because we aren't evil enough to do so.. and move back to the real target.. bin laden.

Iraq is their territory, their country no matter who they are sunnies or others. They all will defend their country. They think the USA is agressor.
The best decision would be to leave the country immediately
