At 19 weeks, how many calories should I be intaking on a daily basis, and how many pounds should I be gaining weekly? Is there a recommended amount of intake of vitamins that I should be aware of? I take a daily prenatal multi-vitamin which consists of:
Vitamin A(beta carotene) 2700 I.U., Vitamin C(ascorbic acid) 120mg, Calcium(calcium carbonate) 200mg, Elemental Iron(carbonyl iron) 90mg, Vitamin D3(choleccalciferol) 400 I.U., Vitamin E(al-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) 10 I.U., Vitamin B1(thiamine mononitrate) 3mg, Vitamin B2(roboflavin) 3.4mg, Niacinamide 20mg, Vitamin B6(pyridoxine HCI) 20mg, Folic Acid 1mg, Vitamin B12(cyanocobalamin) 12mcg, Biotin 30mcg, Pantothenic Acid (calcium pantothenate) 6mg, Magnesium (magnesium oxide) 30mg, Zinc(zinc oxide) 15mg, Copper(cuprid oxide) 2mg, and Docusate sodium 50mg. Should I be intaking MORE of any one of these listed above (besides the folic acid)? I also take a daily pill (ferrous sulfate) which is 65 mg of elemental iron. thanks.

Wow. You're like a walking test tube or something.

There is no set ammount of anything, just recomendations based on the average needs of the average woman.

Pranatals are for your body, not the babies. The baby will eek whatever it needs from your body whether you take it in or not, so much so that your teeth will lose their calcium if the baby cant get it any other way. The prenatal ensures that your body has enough to replenish what the baby takes. If you cant take a vitamin, or dont get enough of something, the baby will still get all it can from your body.

Folic acid played the biggest role in the first 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, and even a bigger role before you even knew you were pregnant. The baby needs folic acid to grow the spinal colomn, and the brain and vital systems. You keep taking it because you both need some, but generally you get all you need from your diet.

As far as caloric intake goes, you only need about and extra 300 calories a day for the bulk of your pregnancy. But that doesnt apply for everyone, some women need more and are moer active, others need less.

Your weight gain hinges on how much buffer weight your body needs to put on, and when and how fast the baby has growth spurts. You might lose a few pounds in the begining, or gain nothing for a few months. Or you might put on 10 pounds by 12 weeks. So long as you're not becmoing obese, and only eating when you're hungry, you're fine.

If you pay attention to your body and stay active, and eat when hungry, and eat well, you will be fine.

Every woman puts on a different amount of weight. The avrage is about 25 pounds a pregnancy. But I had to pu on 45 in 8 1/2 months because I was small, and the baby needed it. Iam still in size small maternity clothes, all the weight is in my belly. You'd be amazed how much weight that area can hold.

Just use common sense, eat well, and stay active. You'll be fine. Your doctor will monitor you and help you tweak anything thats amiss.

Wow. You sound as though you're working on a chemistry project rather than a baby!
Honestly, the prenatal vitamins are designed to deliver most everything you need. I'd recommend supplementing with extra calcium (antacids work for this, too) unless you really feel like drinking two liters of milk a day. Making a baby tends to deplete your body's calcium supply. Beyond that, don't overthink the vitamins, women were making healthy babies for thousands of years before they were discovered.
As far as the weight gain and calories, moms tend to be overly concerned. Every pregnancy is different. Listen to your body. If you are eating healthful foods and are eating as much as your body (and your baby) are telling you to, then you're doing fine. You can always lose the extra pounds later, don't short-change your baby just to strive for some "norm".

sounds like youre on top of it. your total weight gain should be between 20 - 25 pounds. prenatal vits, and iron are a great combo- it's what i used. if the iron makes you feel sick, take it before bed. Good Luck!

Take your pre-natal vitamins, they are a good source of folic acid.

just take your prenatal and 300 extra calories is all you need. congrats.
