collecting DVDs and Xbox games.
I'm lucky i'm in vietnam, and those stuff are cheap here.

I know pirated dvds are illegal, but everyone should look at the fact that 5 star hotel in vietnam pays their employees 1 dollar an hour, thats considered as good salary in vietnam. also, it's nearly impossible to find the original copies here. So i have no choice.

So yea, back to my hobby. I started because I watch a lot of DVDs, and play a lot of games before. Although I only watch each DVDs once, I always thought it would be fun to watch those dvds again when I'm old, just to see how the movie industry have changed.. i kno, i'm crazy as hell

My big hobby is boardgames and card games. I have to stay away from game and toy stores because I always walk out with a new game under my arm.

I grew up playing games with my family, mostly cards and the common popular games (Monopoly, Sorry, etc). Off and on in HS and college, I played games, including Roll Playing Games, with friends, but was never part of the larger gaming community. When I was about 30, I spent several months living away from my family as part of my job. Rather than spend my evenings working or watching TV I found friends, in the city where I was working, who were also gamers. My new friends introduced me to a much wider scope of board and card games (Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, etc). Now, after many years of board gaming, I have three bookcases full of games and game components.

I would feel guilty about spending so much time and money on my hobby, except that my wife is into more hobbies than I am. She has done sewing, rubber stamping, quilling, scrap-booking, stained glass, beading, etc. Her collection of 'stuff' dwarfs mine.

I knit. I started for a few reasons; one was that I had a job where I was literally paid to be there, and I needed something to occupy my time; the other big one was that I had designed a purse I wanted, but of course couldn't find anywhere. (I have one now!)

I collect teapots. My son who is disabled can't get around much. He had a picture of several teapots on a buffet and gave it to me when I visited him a few years ago. Now when I get another teapot, I take a digital picture of it and send it to him.
