I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual, and I am guided by my own sense of right and wrong. And science does play a huge role in my personal politics, because I see both the good and the harm it can do. I am pro-choice, because I believe that women should have control over their own bodies. Also, even if abortions were illegal, women would still find ways to get abortions, and many of them would be unsafe and, in some cases, deadly. If we're going to have abortions at all, they should all be safe, legal, and readily available to those who want and need them.
Regarding stem cell research, I have to say that I am all for it. We need to find cures and effective treatments for conditions like Parkinson's disease, paralysis, and Alzheimer's disease. And if using stem cells is the way to do that, I'm all for it!
Quite recently, a former NASA scientist concluded through his research that we have only 10 years left to reverse the effects of global warming. The naysayers out there need to stop ignoring the warnings of the experts and we all need to band together to stop the destruction of the environment.

First of all, I do not trust the scientific community and I haven't
for a lot of years.
They have this tendency to jump to erroneous conclusions
without sufficient evidence, That is bad science. Enough said
about that.
I am dead set against abortion, it's murder pure and simple.
I would be in favor of stem cell research IF the stem cells came
from places other then abortions. For example, stem cells can
be retrieved from umbilical cords. Those are fetal stem cells.
On the other hand, because the science is bad and because
medical research has become big business, I doubt that
anything would become of it in less then 50 years, probably
longer.
Cut off research funding for cancer and see how fast the cure
is on the Pharmacy shelves. It probably wouldn't take a week.
I would not vote for anyone who ran on a platform that included
anything based on bad science.
To give you an idea of where I am coming from, let me say
this: I have 1 degrees in engineering, a degree in general Physics
and a degree in general science, plus numerous certifications.
I fell for the lie that if you have a good education you will be
successful. You don't need a big education for success.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.
Thank you very much, while you're up!

Fiscally-conservative moderate Republican here.
Suport stem cell research and woman's right to choose until the fetus is independently viable.
Religion is between you and God, and you have no authority under God or the State to impose your beliefs on others.

I believe in God and know what is right and wrong. Some of my views are grounded in the fact that wrong is wrong (according to the Bible) others (such as gay issues) which are wrong, I feel that the saying "hate the sin and not the sinner is relevant.
