You really should have thought of that BEFORE you quit your job. I don't care how bad the situation was, that was not smart.
That being said, hopefully, you are not geographically constrained. That seriously limits your options. If there is a such thing as a professional organization(s) for your career field, try to get your hands on the mailing list of members. Send them a letter with your resume. You are not asking for a job in their organization...that puts them on the defensive. Ask them to review your resume and suggest who might be hiring someone with your background and career goals. That approach can generate some great leads.
I used that approach when I was ready to retire and actually sent out over 300 letters/resumes all over the country. When all was said and done, I had 5 really excellent concrete job opportunities from which to choose.

the best jobs are ones that are never advertised. Review your skills, and most of all, write down on one side of paper WHAT YOU MOST ENJOY DOING, and follow that path. why not start selling stuff on ebay? its easier than u think .Be proactive, dont wait for the job to come to you, and the longer you are unemployed, the harder it will be to get another job, so act fast!

double glazingfirms will take anyone on to do cold calling on the phone rubbish money so just a stop gap . also employment agencies are useful if you need a job fast.
