I read on one of the Wii sites for MyYahoo, that if you have not Pre-Ordered a Wii now, you will not get it for Christmas in the UK. If you Pre-Ordered before launch day you will. Hopefully, someone stood inline for ya and got ya one. Good Luck!

It probably just depends on how determined you are. We had to queue up for an hour before the store opened to get ours (but this was in North America, and I'm not sure how the shipments are for the UK).
I think in the end, you might have to give her an IOU saying she'll get one after the crazy launch period. Or buy her her own Wii remote and nunchuck and some games so she can play at a friend who was lucky enough to snag one until you find one for her.

you can get one on ebay but you might have to pay a little extra....it all depends on how much you want it
