Try to not just stand there and move your arms. If you are dancing with a girl, let her do her thing. If your brave, try to get behind her and groove with her.
Also, don't smother her. Dance away from her a bit and show her your best moves!!
If you have trouble dancing, just listen to either the drum or bass. Just tap your feet to either and you will be ok most of the time.

Arms at a 90 degree angle, shuffling side to side. Let the lady do all the work. Save his energy for possible things to come :)
