The Mellon Arena is the league's oldest and nearly it's smallest arena.

The other answer is correct. It's the Nassau Coliseum built in 1972 seats 16,297 and it's not a wonder why they don't have a new rink yet with 11,222 average attendance. That's a shame considering they are a possible playoff team. I mean how can you be worst than Washington who only have big crowds when Pittsburgh fans go to see the Caps and Pens? Guess it sucks to be in an area that has probably too many teams. Here's a nice list of arena's and make sure to look for the team's new arena(s) before thinking they are the smallest.

Not sure if Mellon is the smallest structure. It could be.
