You can use either - Datel products are always excellent quality (I use a Datel memory card for my Gamecube and its lasted years).

The only thing to consider is that you will only be able to use the Wii and DS online if your PC is on, otherwise the USB adapter won't be working! This is a pain, especially if you want to make use of Wii's 24 hour sleeping internet connection thingy...

Personally I'd invest in a wireless router. Yesterday I bought a Linksys Wireless G ADSL modem/router. It has 4 ethernet ports (one for my PC, one for my Xbox 360) and can accept connections from up to 32 wireless computers too. Add to that the fact it is also a modem, and therefore you are connected to the net 24/7, and can therefore use all devices online regardless of your Pc being on or off, and its a much better set up. It cost me £50 with a free laptop wireless adapter.

I took my DS and my PSP online through it with no trouble at all, its fantastic playing (and losing...) at Tetris against total strangers!!

If you use Play.com, Datel's one is cheaper than Nintendo's one by far. It is also much more flexible-you can have up to 5 DSs, PCs, PSPs or just about anything else which can connect to the Internet wirelessly connected to it at any time, whereas the Nintendo one is specific for the DS, and can only serve one system at a time.
I'd say that the Datel one is by far the more wise investment, I have one and it is great!
