am Tunisian and used to live in the US. I will be in Bahrain for a training program in a Bank for two months. Please I need web addresses or phone numbers that could help me find a furnished apartment for a temporary stay or share a room in an appartment near the Diplomatic Area? Can I find foreign students to share an apartment with. I am given a housing allowence of 300BD per month. Can I find a place to stay within my budget and which is in a walking distance from work, i.e. in the Diplomatic Area.

When you reach bahrain for time being stay in the Hoora Area

which is exactly behind the diplomatic area

there are plenty of fully furnished apartments available, for stay a couple of days, look at the near by super markets (especially elite supermarket) beside you will find lot of sharing accomodation available

call them next the public phone, you will get a nice one in the same area

It is not more than 10 minutes walk from hoora to diplomatic area

your budget BD 300 is more than enough to stay for one month,

hoora area adjacent is exhibition road is multi cultured, where there is lot of restaurants, hotels, entertainments, and mosques, supermarket is located, and it is good time pass too when you pay a visit to Gosi Shopping complex

Take the helpline in bahrain, when you landed it will be much useful, they speak native arabic, english, french and much more

Staying in diplomatic area is difficult, since that is financial district it is hard to find sharing flat, rather only choice is go to hotel Crowne Plaza or Diplomat Radisson SAS

The easiest way to find apartments in Bahrain is to actually be in Bahrain. Most of that information is not available online. Once you get to Manama, you won't have a problem. And 300BD should be plenty to find a nice place.

I'm not quite sure of the availability of apts. in the Diplomatic Area, but there are tons of furnished apts. in Juffair, Adliya and Gudaibiya that are available for weekly and monthly rental. Not really within walking distance - although I suppose that depends on your definition of walking distance, but very close by.

If you are going to be in Bahrain for two months, you might want to consider skimping a bit on the rent and putting some of that money towards renting a car. Public transportation is sad at best, and you'll need a car to get anywhere. With the cost of hiring taxis, you might as well get your own ride. Bahrain is tiny, and the roads are pretty easy to figure out.

For a temporary place to stay while apartment hunting, check out the Diplomatic Radisson or the Crowne Plaza as they are in the Diplomatic Area.

Good luck!
