have you ever been in any legal situation where you had to prove yourself innocent? And how many times have you heard of our police officers doing whatever it takes to make an arrest, instead of protecting and serving the public like they are supposed too?

First of all, real life is not some overly dramatic court tv show. You don´t go to court unless you have a reason for being here. Courts don´t have the time to maliciously seek people out for no good reason. They don´t even have time to handle the cases hey already have.
Second, I am tired of people claiming all police are evil because a small handful broke the law and their oaths as officers of the law. 99% of law enforcement are hard working people who respect the rules and obey the law. I is the small fraction of morons who make the news.
Police officers are put in place to serve and protect, and nearly all of them do.

I would like to address this question but also "shooters" comment. No doubt when you get accussed of a crime and you are innocent you are going to have work hard at clearing your name. Our system says innocent until proving guilty but thanks the the media...people are sometimes tried before they even get to the court. As far as the police go...sometimes doing whatever it takes to make an arrest is the same thing as protecting the public. That does not mean however breaking the law themselves or trampling rights. Most cops work within the confines of the law. "Shooter" - why do you lump all cops together? I work with teens as a cop. 90% of my time is spent helping kids with problems at home and trying to keep them off the street. I know I'm not the only cop out there that cares. And by the way...our president...in case you haven't noticed is the one making some of those laws you were taking about. Last time I checked he was pretty much on the side of the religious right.

It should be obvious to anyone who can read that America is rapidly becoming a police state , our fore Fathers warned us of this and told us to be vigilant, have we?? when any law is passed it takes a certain amount of freedom from some one and if you don't complain then when a law is passed that takes away some of your freedom the other guy will say to hell with you, you didn't help me. our public servants have become our masters, even the bible said it would happen, and it was written 2000 years ago and some people will still deny god , have they ever read the bible? since 1953 our law makers have added over 50 ,000 new laws most we don't even know exist until we break one and then we have to pay a dear price, cops are among the worst as they are Brain washed into thinking everyone is a crook and the are our hero's , in a dangerous job, ha ha the insurance co's rate their job less dangerous than a construction workers, a farmer. and certainly less dangerous than steel workers etc, but, the do have a darn good P.R, committee,

Why the negativity against the police. They preform a great service for the men and women of this country. There are a few that are criminals as well, but that does not make every cop bad. Quit lumping them all together.

Joe Willy Neckbone says, “ I don’t rightly know the answer to this question, but I will be right here when you ask a question that I do know the answer to.”
