Most schools and teachers steer away from text speech. One reason is that many teachers and test graders do not necessarily understand it. Another is that text speech is a shorthand for use primarily on cell phones where there is limited space for writing a whole word out. Similar debates sprang up about twenty odd years ago when schools were allowing phonetic spelling. A written exam is judged on many factors and spelling is one of these. Quite seriously, it can be difficult for a test reader when alternatives are allowed.

You find it hard to write correctly? This is a sad commentary on life.

If I were an instructor/professor and received an exam with "text speech" I'd fail it without even looking at the whole exam. Who can understand that crap? I could barely understand your question. Leave it to the cellphones.

Where I work students are required to produce work in English, if they don't the work is not marked. txt speak is not English.

And what about after exams? Do you intend ever to work? you will need written english skills then. Or if not then you still need to be able to apply for DSS benefits and that requires filling in a form.

No, its okay to use txt grammer while writing notes to friends and while txting of corse but its not okay to use it while writing term papers or useing it on exams. There are a few reasons why, the main reason though is the teacher may not know what the term meens and could get confused. so l8r.

You've used three correct capitals and have an awareness of what it means to write correctly. That puts you ahead of many!

Give up texting until you have developed your other writing style to a sufficient level of fluency.
And then you will have that wonderful thing: choice!

Yes, you are marked on 'SPAG'....spelling, punctuation and grammar. You will lose these marks and they can make a difference of a whole grade.

We would rather you did not.

It takes longer to read (trying to work the question out of the Chav talk)

And yes, people will report you probably.
