No- this time of year, there is minimal lines if any at the gates.
If you buy them off property, you pay a service fee PER ticket.

Actually, yes. There are many websites that sell discounted Disney tickets, but make sure they're accredited before you buy! Often, though, the cost differential is negligible so if you don't want the hassle of having to search online, just buy them at the park.

Being New Year's Eve, safer bet to purchase beforehand so as not to spend too much time queuing outside the park. Have a good time and Happy New Year!

Actually, the best thing to do is to go to disney.com and plan your trip with Disney directly. I planned a trip in February of this year through them and things went perfectly. My wife and I booked a trip to Disney World through a travel agent seven years ago for our honeymoon and we were put into the wrong room and the airport was somewhat chaotic.
Take it from someone who knows, Disney World knows the best way to get to their park, get into their park, and where to stay at their park. Disney has some of the best customer service in the world.

Many places surrounding WDW offer "discounted tickets" however, you dont want to end up spending the money on them only to arrive at the gates to Magic Kingdom and find out they are worthless. I would purchase the tickets from Disney, they may be more expensive, but they are also garaunteed.

You can also buy them online, at disney's website, which costs the same, and then choose to pick them up at the park to save on shipping. You would need to take the creditcard you purchased them with. And if you're a FL resident, you also need to take a valid ID and then you can get discounts.

Technically you are outside the park, right? So you would need to purchase the ticket to get in?

yes sometimes its much less expensive but be wary of sdealing with this people because some might give you tickets that cannot be allowed to use to go inside, just make sure that you know who you are dealing with and you can also haggle for cheaper prices than what they quoted you in the first place, just be very cautious.

Yeah if you can it wouldn't hurt. Depending on where you get them (Disney Store, AAA travel) you can get discounts, although if I remember right not a huge one. It also cuts down on the wait time once you get to the Mouse. I envy you... have fun!!
