You can talk about it, but to deny its existence is illegal in some countries and unacceptable to most rational people.
It was a terrible, horrible thing that happened and some people are simply not comfortable discussing it.

Perhaps you are refering to the conference being held in Iran?
This conference is to debate whether the holocaust ever happened and peeps on here are right, this is illegal/offensive to many people, both jews and gentiles.
The real point about this however, is being missed by almost everyone outside the muslim world. The Iranian government are of course totally aware of the sensitivity that surrounds this subject. They are doing this in order to compare the outrage of the west over this conference to the dismissive disregard the west treated muslims with over the publication of blasphemous cartoons in Denmark.
Ironically, the only genuine denials of the holocaust come from the far right organisations in the west. This is just politics of the playground variety.

No one says you can't talk about it. But Iran is trying to use the Holocaust to show why Israel should not be allowed to exist. Their agenda is designed to bother the rest of the world in the same way Muslims were upset about cartoons making fun of Mohammed. The president of Iran actually said that.
Making jokes about a prophet vs denying or at least denying any importance to the insanely brutal slaughter of a few million people. And Muslims can't figure out why many people have such bad opinions about the.

You are quite incoherent. The holocaust is not taboo. You can talk about it, but denying it ever happened is a dangerous thing, given recent history.

You can talk about the Holocaust. Some people, particularly the Germans, do not like to talk about it because of the guilt of their non reaction to this terrible part of history.

You can in countries with free speech. In some European countries it was made illegal to dispute the Holocaust, not to just talk about it.
