Hopefully he will choose a Republican, the chances of him recovering are getting less as time goes on, the Doctors would have already released information on his condition if his prognosis were good!!

There is no way the Governor will choose a democrat to replace Johnson. The Dems are going to lose control for sure.

Republicans appoint republicans, democrats appoint democrats. Simple as that. The numbers will become 50 GOP, 48 Dems, 2 Ind......that makes the GOP the rulers of the senate. So much for impeachment.

Unfortunately he will pick a Republican, and the Dems lose control. This sucks for the Dems, but I really feel bad for Senator Johnson. Even if he wanted to pick a Democrat, he will be under too much "pressure" by the Bush Administration.

Of course a republican will pick a republican, if it comes to that. I hope Senator Johnson recovers.

The republicans will get another republican to replace him, and Nancy Pelosi will NOT be house speaker. The vote will then be 50/50, leaving the decisive vote to senate president, Dick Cheney.

Ha, I honestly don't believe rascal Daschle will be Senator again. He opened his mouth and inserted his foot. The sound of his voice still makes me cringe. Depending on the Governors politics depends on who he will choose. We'll have to wait and see, but I don't like counting my chickens before they hatch.

That is up to the govenor to decide. The person he picks will only serve till 08, then he or she will have to be elected back in or lose their seat.

I would imagine that "fair and just" will again take a back seat to "party mentality"
