Prostitution IS legal. It's soliciting for sex which is illegal. If there was less of a stigma associated with this profession perhaps more women would be much safer, being able to build up regular and reliable client bases and reducing the risks associated with street walking.

I think it should. That way it can be monitored correctly, it would be safer for the women and society in general. Just because it is illegal doesn't mean it will stop. Prostitution will never go away and has been around for centuries. The only way to make it better is with control. I'm not saying it should be considered a career or should be advertised in the employment section, but there could be a designated body from the police who could control it and take it off the street corners. That way it wouldn't be as seedy, dangerous or like is happening now, murders.
There will never be a happy outcome to prostitution as the majority of people wish it doesn't exist in the first place. It isn't working the way it is now and I think the government should at least pilot a trial scheme for a year or two to see how it would work.

as pointed out, prostitution is legal.
soliciting and running a disorderly house (a brothel with more than one prostitute) is illegal
making it legal would give the girls more confidence to approach the authorities when they were abused, or beaten.
The were talking to a prostitutes collective rep on one of the news programs, recently. she was saying that there was a 'tolerance zone'in edinburgh for about 1 year, and then it was removed.
in the year followng the removal of the zone, there was a 1000% increase in attacks on prostitutes.

Absolutely it should be legalised and then it should be regulated, with proper brothels with security were the girls will not be harmed and can be treated well, if it was legal the government would have more control over the girls problems and helping to deal with them such as drug addiction and single parenthood

No beacuse it is to going to stop the prostitutes from being violent abuse by men. It is not going to stop women from easten Europe from being trafficked.
Legislating prostitution will have no impact on the sex industry.

Just hold on to your hats because the Supreme Dictators of the United States will probably say that it is a constitutional right.

It shouldn't be made legal, but more and more people are doing it and they don't care about the fact that it is legal or not. So it makes no sense to legalize or not legalize it.

yes. it would be regulated better.
plus you have to pay for every other natural drive.
i.e
sleep - hotels
food - everywhere
drink - everywhere
and prostitution is not a new phenomanon, it's been around since humans spent money and exchanged goods

yeah, i think so.
i wouldnt ever do it, but i think if it was made legal it would be much safer. People could be checked, and safe places to meet and do their thing.
Each to their own, who are we to judge.
At the end of the day its a service both people have consented to.

I think having girls on the street should be illegal yes, but i think the opening of legal brothels and such should mean that it becomes safer for the girls to work (and guys i suppose) and for there customers as there are regular safty checks with legaly run brothels.
