WEll.. there are three similar definitions that one can use this word and PARTICULARLY the first is the more common:

a) To a great degree; especially: I particularly like the brown shoes.

b) With particular reference or emphasis; individually or c) specifically:“Everyone has a moment in history which belongs particularly to him”

c) With regard to particulars; in detail.

By the way.. they are all adjectives and used that way in a sentence..
