Yes, they give you extra vitamins and nutrients that your body wouldnt have otherwise, and since you are not pregnant yet there is no where for them to go other than your thighs!!!

I was pregnant when I started taking prenatals, so I blamed my weight gain on pregnancy.
Take a look at the label - are there any calories in them? Even if the B-vitamins, chromium, or thiamin makes you hungrier, I'm not sure they would make you gain much weight. If you are sure it's the vitamins, go off them for a month or just a couple of weeks and see if you lose weight.

The vitamins could be helping you to absorb your food more efficiently, which could account for a small gain in weight. However 10 pounds seems like a lot. It is probably due to other factors as well.

no, there isn't any reason you would gain weight from taking prenatal vitamins.
are you sure that you aren't gaining weight b/c you have "baby on the brain" and that's making you eat more???
many women have a tendency to eat more when they are pregnant....one b/c they need more calories to help grow the baby, but two, b/c they feel it's a license to eat whatever they want.
just a thought.
take care.

The OTC ones are simply as well because the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all of the nutrients that you simply and little one want. The prescribed ones in general have just a little extra nutrients in them. So both approach your well. I get the One A Day prenatal nutrients, $thirteen for a month provide. There's generally nothing in there to make you gain weight. Check the label though. It could be a variety of things, but the answers you have so far are really good.

Pre-natal vitamins do not make you gain weight. There must be another explanation. Are you eating more or different foods? Do you exercise? If this continues, I would speak to your doctor..
