Statisticly there is a rotation in the NFL, due to the salary cap. When a team aquires a player he will most likely go in on a low salary. When and if that player becomes someone who can help you win, he will know it, and then become more expensive. When a team pays them this top dollar it is called "Franchising" If that happens to enough players then the team has a situation..... They have great players that are all worth more than they can afford. So when their contracts are up and they find out that the team cant give them enough money they leave. Hence a bad football team. The problem is, since Barry Sanders left, the Lions have had a hard time finding these type of players. Most likely due to management. So when they get new management they can have a good team. Until then, fans only have they're dreams and memories of the days of Barry Sanders.

maybe if Barry sanders (greatest running back of all time- even better than LT) comes back and they replace almost the whole team
i have never been a big team person rather a favorite palyer person. i followed the lions for about 10 years while Barry was there. i always wanted him to be traded to a better team as he deserved a ring. Just think what he could have done with a line like emmit smith always had. they were always in a race for the runshing lead only Sanders usually had the worst line in NFL
since he retired (way to soon, would have broke all records out there) i have been following the Eagles due to McNabb who i also followed in college (i live near SU)
Seriously i don't understand what their problem is they usually have some quality players but can never play as a team

Yes, they will draft Brady Quinn and finally get the quarterback they have desperately needed. They have a decent back and good recievers. Their defense is young and has promise if they can draft well in coming years and if they could help their offensive line through free agency, they have a shot in 4 or 5 years. I think they have a good coach. I would like to see Martz (OC) and Quinn together in the future. The greatest show on turf could be in Detroit.

Yes in time. The team has a long way to go. With the salary cap, a team can become competitive in a few years.

not in our lifetimes. every year that they spend a #1 draft pick on a WR set them back 4 years. every year that millen is in charge sets them back another 4 years.
the closest the lions are going to get to super bowl is when detroit hosts it (ps that is a great stadium).
