We have a very substantial amount of Lifetime cookware. Other than having a non-stick skillet on hand, we use it exclusively. About 20% of it is new which was purchased from a lifetime saleman who comes to your home. There is no doubt that it is wretchedly expensive, due in no small part to the salesmans commission. The other 80% is older, 20 to 40 years old, purchased at Estate Sales and Auctions. It has been around for a long time and the old stuff is nearly as good as the new. That expensive salesman will stop by my house and replace the handles on any of it, even the old stuff. When you look at it over time, it is something you will use every day for the rest of your life. I'd hate to give mine up. The new was about $1000 and I probably have enough of the old bought at auction to get my kids started when they get on their own. Here's the website: http://www.lifetimecookware.com/
