Krispy is a trade name - it doesn't mean the doughnuts are Krispy (or even Crispy!!!).

the icing on the doughnut or outer glaze is crispy u just may not feel the crunch in your mouth,but its very good.

It is all in the marketing. They had to get something beginning with K that sounded good to go with Kreme.
